General Overview
The Interact club stands for "International Action". The first of it's kind was established in Melbourne, Florida, USA. Soon, it quickly spread to many other parts of the world, including Malaysia. Today, it is a huge worldwide organisation with over 150,000 members in 93 parts of the world. The purpose of the organisation is to provide an opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. Through Interact, the young members develop initiative, leadership skills, and lasting friendships. The club raises it's own funds and creates projects to raise charity money.
Interact allows you to share thoughts with other youths. Other reasons as testified by other clubs include....
- It has helped keep our ideas young.
- We have become more enthusiastic in our activities.
- Our community is well aware that our club is working on youth activities.
Additionally Interact will help to:
- Develop a link between young people and adults leading to a better understand of the problems and viewpoints of each.
- Will help to accomplish projects of a much larger scope through the cooperative use of time, talent, and energy by Rotarians and youth.
- Interact provides a sense of accomplishment and pride in you after each project, whether big or small, it makes a difference.
All you need to participate is the willingness to want to lend a helping hand to others. Students from the age of 13 to 18 are eligible to participating in the school club.
Club Sponsorship
All Interact clubs are sponsored by the local Rotary Club, which will:
